The story of samialaw

SamiaLaw was founded by Attorney Samia who has lived the immigrant experience. She grew up in a migrant Pakistani family in Scotland, daughter of a bus ticket attendant, and faced the challenges of finding belonging in a dominant western society. She graduated as Valedictorian of her high school and initially attended Imperial College, London to study engineering. She eventually dropped out of this program and after some soul searching she decided law would be personally more rewarding. Although the only person of color in her class, with the support of her kind professors Ian McGhee and John Grant, she was encouraged to pursue her passion in Public International Law, and graduated with highest honors. This path took her to admission to Harvard Law School and the freedom to continue her work in civil liberties, public international law and global migration.
